Our Mission

Reformed Baptist Church of Helena (RBCH) exists to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Our mission is to worship God in an acceptable way, which is instituted by Him in the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, our corporate worship contains only the elements God has given us in His Word, which are listed in our confession of faith as the, “reading the Scriptures, preaching and hearing the Word of God, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord, as well as the administration of baptism and the Lord’s supper.”(2nd LBC 22:5)

Our mission is also to see the saints built up to maturity through the normal means of grace which God has given for that purpose. Word, Sacrament, and the exercise of loving church discipline. Through these means God has given believers everything we need to be progressively conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. Any form of legalism according to Colossians 2:23, is “of no value in stopping the indulgences of the flesh.”

Finally, our mission is also the proclamation of the gospel to the lost. It is through the preaching of the gospel that God has chosen to effectually work in the hearts of people the glorious work of regeneration. We strive therefore to exalt the gospel and proclaim it as the greatest news for sinners who desire forgiveness and peace with God. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ provides the once for all sacrifice for sins to all who believe, and the perfect obedience of Christ as our only merit with God that will ensure eternal life.
